Topic: Tuesday Coffee Talk
Good Tuesday morning everyone! Time to rise and shine! Today is going to be the best day of your life! Mine too! I can just feel it. Something good is about to happen!
Our challenge for today is to tell your loved ones how much you love them and appreciate them. Not only tell them, but show them. Too often, we take each other for granted, knowing that our loved ones are there and that they know we love them. Sometimes, they need to hear how much we love them and appreciate them. Show them! Tell them! You'll love the benefits and love you get in return!
So! Who's up this morning? What cha sippin' on? I'm loving me some Maxwell House this morning. Good to the last drop! Gotta love it.
Y'all have a loving Tuesday!

Topic: RE: Requesting prayers for my daughter's cancer surgery
Hello Kathy I understand how you must feel in Oct,2007 my son called and said could you drop everything and be here tonight I am having cancer surgery in the morning what a slap I went and he is well today so I will use those same prayers for your daughter and you have a safe trip and we all will be praying.

Topic: RE: Requesting prayers for my daughter's cancer surgery
Father,Your Word tells us that " if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven." (Mt.18:19) and Kathy is asking for us to agree with her,and we are more than two, therefore Lord, we come before Your throne believing and saying that "Your Word will not return to You void, but will accomplish what it says it will (Is 55:11). So we speak Psalm 34:7 and Psalm 91:10 for Kathy's daughter that "the angel of the Lord encamps around her and delivers her from every evil work"..."No evil shall befall her, no plague or calamity shall come near her dwelling. You Word abides in her and delivers to her perfect soundness of mind and wholeness in body and spirit even to the joints and marrow of her bones.. Your Word is medication and life to her flesh (Prov. 4:22). We stand immovable in the assurance that she has health and healing in the name of Jesus.

I stand in agreement with you. May the surgeon's hands be an extension of the hands of God, and may the surgery be successful and uneventful, and may your daughter's recovery be quick and as painfree as possible, and may she be cancer free in Jesus Name! I am glad you are able to be there with your daughter. I am blessed my Mom will be able to be with me for my surgery on the 31st. I know how much it means to me, and I know you are a blessing to your daughter! Will hold you both in prayer. God Bless.

Hi, Kathy.
I'm so glad that you are able to go to be with your daughter. If you are a believer (and I know you are), and if you believe in healing as paid for by "Jesus' stripes" (and I believe you do), then you have all the requirements needed to fulfill the verse that says "Believers shall lay hands on the sick, and the sick shall recover" (Mark 16:18). That's a promise. It says "shall" (or "will"), not might. The only reason why recovery wouldn't happen is if your daughter has "fulfilled the number of [her] days," so unless she's 70 years old or older (the years we've been promised in the Word--"the number of their days shall be three score and ten"), then you just lay your hands on her, pray Mark 16:18, and claim that your daughter is in recovery, from that moment on! As her mother, you have much authority in prayer. That and praying in the Name of Jesus will be awesome!
Keep us posted. I agree with you in prayer, for total healing.
Blessings,
Mary

Topic: Requesting prayers for my daughter's cancer surgery
I leave tomorrow night for Colorado, where my elder daughter lives. She is having surgery on Thursday for thyroid cancer. They will be doing a thyroidectomy, a lateral neck dissection, and a medial neck dissection. Fortunately, her doctor is a double board-certified ENT surgeon and oncologist. We are praying for the best outcome - total healing. Please agree with me in prayer. Thanks!
Topic: Life Plan Devotion #139 [Guidelines for Giving, 2 of 3]
Hi, Everyone.
I trust you had a good weekend and are ready for a great week. Today, we continue looking at the 2nd of the 3 Guidelines for Giving, as outlined in II Corinthians 9:7. I realize that giving when money is tight may seem crazy, but God takes care of and blesses givers. I can testify to that, and I'm sure many of you can, too. It's wise to take some time to learn what God's Word has to say about giving. That's what we've been doing and will continue to do, until the Lord leads otherwise.
Have a great day. There are several people having surgery today (Monica, Kerr, Hope, Leah, Abigail's Mommy, Donna K, and Ken B.). I doubt I have all the names, so please pray for everyone having surgery today. God knows who they are. :)
Life Plan Devotion #139 [Guidelines for Giving, 2 of 3]
II Corinthians 9:7 "Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver" (NIV).
Last time, we looked at the first of three guidelines for giving, as outlined in II Corinthians 9:7. The first guideline for godly giving is that the giver should prayerfully decide the amount to give and the place to give it.
Godly giving takes resolve, and that's the second guideline. If there is no decision, there will be no resolve. Giving is not a matter to be decided lightly or out of impulse. If you give because someone has "played on your emotions," like a telethon pledge, you may find that you regret it later or, worse yet, do not follow through on your pledge.
If you prayerfully make a decision to give, you will not fall prey to the opposite giving outcome, which is "grudgingly" (KJV), "reluctantly or under compulsion" (ESV), you "feel sorry that you must give...feel that you are forced to give" (CEV), "sad when you give" (NCV), give "out of regret or out of necessity" (HCSB), "give [when] you don't want to" (NIRV), "give, wishing [you] could keep it" (NLV).
The Message Version of II Corinthians 9:7 says it this way: "I want each of you to take plenty of time to think it over, and make up your own mind what you will give. That will protect you against sob stories and arm-twisting..." Prayerfully consider and decide the amount to give and where to give it, then be resolved to follow through, no matter what.
Ecclesiastes 5:4-5 [NIV]
"When you make a vow to God, do not delay in fulfilling it... It is better not to vow than to make a vow and not fulfill it."
What this has to do with weight loss: How many promises have you made, in connection with your weight-loss journey? How many times have you promised your spouse, yourself, and/or God that you will exercise regularly (whether you feel like it or not), eat fewer carbs (or whatever will serve your body well, causing it to release more weight), or not make your family suffer for your weight-loss journey woes? God sees a promise as a vow. He takes it seriously, and so should you. Seriously consider any promise before you make it, planning carefully how you will fulfill it, and follow through. Do you have to be perfect at it? No, but God expects a perfect try. He will help you do what you cannot, as long as you have done all you can.
Confession:
I give thoughtfully, prayerfully, and with the resolve to follow through, no matter what.
Blessings,
Mary
